A formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block is preferred specimen type or one (1) unbaked, unstained slide for H&E staining (required) and two to three (2-3) positively charged unstained slides (all cut at 4-5 microns) for each test/antibody ordered.

<p>Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the most common cause of tuberculosis. Immunohistochemical demonstration of mycobacterial antigens is not only useful in establishing mycobacterial etiology, but can also be used as an alternative method to the conventional Ziehl-Neelsen method. Please note this antibody is reactive with other Mycobacterium species including: M. avium, M. phlei, and M. parafortuitum.</p>
